A Sponsored Review // The VIICode T2 Oxygen Eye Cream
Hey beauty babes! It has been a minute since I wrote a real blog post for you and I apologize for that. Things have been pretty crazy since I got back from Arizona, but I am back and I have SO much to share with you guys!
Before I left from the desert VIICode, a company that specializes in eye care products, reached out and asked if I was interested in trying their eye cream. In true wanna-be-beauty-editor fashion I checked out their website and took them up on the opportunity for a few reasons, but mainly that it is SUCH a luxurious product and I had high hopes that luxury would equal results. Does it? We will find out soon, but first a bit about the product and the company.
Just like I mentioned before, VIICode specializes in eye products. Their history takes them back to 1945 when they started the first luxury club for customized skincare - the VII Identity Club - in New York City. From there they developed two lines for everyday use, VII Beauty and VII Code.
About the Eye Cream
The T2 Oxygen Eye Cream comes in 2 sizes, 5mL and 15mL and they retail for $99-$284 - clearly a luxury price!
The product claims to instantly moisturize, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and absorb well with no residue.
While there is no complete list of ingredients on the website, they do mention the key ingredients which are elderberries, jojoba oil, and evening primrose. Elderberry is an antioxidant, jojoba oil hydrates the skin and is rich in antioxidants, and evening primrose boosts blood circulation which helps with dark circles and wrinkles.
The package also came with a "crescent activation strip" which was a small piece of plastic in the shape of a crescent. This is meant to massage your eye area prior to use 2x daily.
My Experience with VIICode
I was given 3 weeks to test out the product prior to writing about it and the main thing I have noticed is just how creamy the product is and how moisturizing it feels on my eye area.
When testing out eye products, I typically only apply them to one eye - weird, I know. But it helps me to really see what is making a difference. In all honesty, I have not noticed a difference in my dark circles (see the photo below). They seem to be the same on both eyes, which tells me the cream has not helped a whole lot with those. I found this a bit odd seeing as the 3rd ingredient is apricot kernel oil which is rich in Vitamin K and known to reduce dark circles, but it's only been a few weeks so we're going to keep trying and see how it goes.
After evaluating my dark circles I moved onto my fine lines and winkles. These were a bit harder to notice for myself and in my photos I took (sorry babes!) but I'll be damned you guys the wrinkles on my left eye (where I was applying the cream) are not as deep as the ones on my right eye! And just like that my wallet started crying because I am VERY into this eye cream.
I did not do a great job at applying the cream close to my lashes, so I didn't see much of a difference there. However towards the inner half of my eyes I was super impressed with the results! My left eye seems to have fewer deep wrinkles extending further across my eye! Now of course this isn't a perfect scenario, because there was no before photo of my left eye, so you'll have to take my word that the wrinkles were there.
Although the results are minor, the skin around your eyes is about 40% thinner than the skin on the rest of your face. This alone is a good enough reason to invest in an eye cream that really works, because you know that's almost always the first area to really take a hit.
My personal experience with this eye cream was great, although it did not seem to target my dark circles as much as I had hoped it really tackled some of my fine lines and it helped to moisturize the skin around my eyes which is huge! I hope to see more results as well the more that I use the eye cream and I will be sure to keep everyone posted.
Smells amazing - the apricot oil is very prominent. However there's no synthetic added fragrance which is great!
I saw results in the deepness of my wrinkles within the three weeks of use
- Fantastic ingredients! The first few are all moisturizing ingredients including jojoba oil, squalene, and hyaluronic acid.
- Very moisturizing to the skin around your eyes.
It comes with a luxurious price tag ($99-$284) depending on which size you want.
- Did not seem to have an effect on my dark circles (although I do intend to give it more time)
Overall beauty babes, I am leaving this one up to you solely because of the price. I feel like we all have one thing we splurge on (more than others) and if you are looking to treat and take care of your eyes this is a no-brainer. I will hands down say yes to this eye cream.
However, can you get the results for less? Honestly I am not sure. I've tried a lot of eye creams and never seen results like this for fine lines and wrinkles, although I will continue to be on the hunt!
This is a truly beautiful eye cream from the unique packaging to the beautiful formula and I look forward to hearing what you guys think after reading about this one too.
*Please keep in mind that while this is a sponsored review of the eye cream, all thoughts are my own. I am not in this game to dupe you into purchasing things I don't believe in from the bottom of my heart.
