Kjaer Weis Blush / A Review

Hey beautiful people!

It's been a minute since I had the time to sit down and chat with you about anything on the blog but I'm finally back and I am so excited! While I've been dormant on here, I never stop thinking about and testing beauty products. One thing I've noticed lately is that I have much better luck with more natural products, has anyone else noticed that as well?

Some of my favorite products fall under the natural/organic/plant-based categories so I can't say I was surprised that I fell in love with this blush from Kjaer Weis but I am definitely a hard-core Mac Cosmetics girl so going natural was a bit intimidating.

A little bit about the brand:

Kjaer Weis is a mix of Scandinavian calmness and New York City excitement, it's a brand that has those two very different vibes working together well to create beauty products that deliver only the best for your skin. The company ensures that all ingredients are Certified Organic or Certified Natural leaving it's customers with the luxury they desire.

KW can get a bit pricey in my opinion, but you get what you pay for! The package comes in a red leather-esque case to hold the stunning metal compact. It sits flat in your hand and you use your thumb to swivel the top of the case open exposing a large pan of product that can easily be pushed out from underneath when the pan in empty to replace the product without discarding all of the packaging. My favorite thing about the package is that the pan is replaceable. I think sustainability in beauty is so huge not only for beauty but for the world, and I hope this trickles down to drugstore brands, and different industries in the near future.

So back to KW! I mentioned earlier that the products were a bit on the pricey side, and by that I meant the cream blush is $56.. This is a good part of the reason I never sought these products out to purchase because that's a tad high for my wallet. I will say now that I've been using it for a few weeks I am so enamored with it that I would pay just about anything. Okay maybe that's an exaggeration, but the refill for the blush is $32 which is much more reasonable in my opinion and you're reusing the metal compact (or maybe you're just buying refills and putting them into a palette you have at home which seems like it could be a nice compromise if your mom/boyfriend/girlfriend/ or best friend would yell at ya for spending $56 on blush..).

So why is Kjaer Weis stealing my heart at the moment?

I am fairly new to cream blush because growing up people were obsessed with using powder products. Okay I know that's no excuse seeing as I am a self proclaimed beauty blogger, but it was always my teaching and understanding that cream products were heavier and looked less natural.
Well BOY was I wrong. This cream blush is incredibly easy to apply and blend, and it gives the most natural sun kissed glow- which for me is more of a sun burnt look that brings a very natural flush to my face.

A few weeks ago this beautiful makeup came in the mail and I was so thrilled to try it. I got the blush in Blossoming and the lip tint in Sensuous Plum. Honestly, unwrapping them made me feel like I ran the world. The products are so luxurious.

Early on I noticed how easy it is to build this blush which I find so important with products. I don't know about you guys but I love versatility and if I can't build a product then it's not the product for me. Now Blossoming definitely has a great pigment to it, so I wouldn't dare layer it but anyone with more olive or darker skin could get away with it easily. It builds and blends very nicely giving you a range of a touch-of-color to avant-garde-cheeks. This is the main reason I continued to use it. Cream products definitely scare me, but this was so user friendly I couldn't not use it.

And finally, the thing I most appreciate about this product is it's staying power. While I don't live down south, I am constantly fighting Connecticut's humidity and ya girl doesn't do well in it. That's precisely why, although I adore it, I don't wear Mac's Face and Body foundation in the summer. It melts off of me in the slightest heat and I start to look like a hot crayon. This KW blush doesn't budge whether it's heat or the constant scratching of the bug bite on my cheek, she stays put and I am very thankful for that.

So You Want the Blush..

The KW Cream Blush comes in 11 different shades which include more browns and nudes, bright pinks, and more coral orangey tones. They don't stop there though.. The company also carries cream foundation, eyeshadow, lipsticks and tints, highlighter, face oil, and so much more. As I grow and my skin and tastes change, I look forward to trying more Kjaer Weis products.

Kjaer Weis is available on their website, but also in some stores. Sorry shoreline friends they haven't made their way down here, but they are available in most cities at natural beauty stores and they're also sold at Barney's, and Credo Beauty.

I definitely recommend getting your hands on some of their products even if it's just to test. Between their ingredients, packaging, and the product itself you really can't go wrong.
