Top Moisturizers for Face & Body

Hey guys!

After a long and cold winter we finally are seeing some sun and warmth up here in Connecticut and while I do despise humidity and being too warm I have to say that it's a nice change from chilly and dreary.

With summer around the corner (or here for some of you in warmer areas) I wanted to make a post about some of my absolute favorite moisturizers for this hot weather. Winter is cold and dry which is why it's so hard on your skin, but summer can be just as unbearable if you're spending too much time in the sun so of course moisturizers are important year round.

These 5 products have been treating me really well for the last few months, so let's break them down and see what they're all about.

- Farmacy Honey Drop: This is an amazing and lightweight moisturizer that I have been using on and off for about 6 months now. In the dead of winter it didn't do a whole lot for me because it wasn't heavy enough to last through the night. In these warmer months though this has done quite a bit for my skin. It has small cupuaçu butter beads in it that burst and help with antioxidant protection, natural sun protection, and support the skin's natural moisture barrier. This cream melts into your skin and is invisible to the touch in seconds. This would be my #1 recommendation to anyone looking for a boost of moisture and antioxidants for summer.

- Laneige Water Sleeping Mask: This moisturizer is so similar to another favorite of mine, the Neutrogena HydroBoost Water Gel (and the best part is there's only a $5 difference!) which is why I adore this product so much. Like Honey Drop, I prefer to use this moisturizer when it's a tad warmer. It's so incredibly relaxing and it has a cooling effect, which leaves my skin feeling drenched and cooled after a long day. Anyone needing a relaxing and light moisturizer for summer, I have got you covered.

- Villa Floriani HydraActive Aloe Intensive Hydrating Cream: I have to be honest with you, I did not think there was a moisturizer out there that could work without feeling heavy. That is until I tried this cream. Villa Floriani created this hydrating cream with 3 types of Hyaluronic Acid, each type has a different molecular weight, which allows the product to penetrate on different levels of the skin. This leaves more than just the top layer of your skin feeling hydrated and happy. And like most other products these days, it is also full of antioxidants to protect you from free radicals. So why is this one so special? Well first of all it works, and second it's antioxidant rich ingredients are aloe, linden, and mallow extracts all of which are calming, and help with temperature fluctuations. If you are in search of a thicker cream that works wonders overnight, you have come to the right place!

- Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream: This cream was probably one of the most immature purchases I've made as a money-conscious beauty lover. This is not an inexpensive body cream for $/oz.. but OMG it smells so good which a huge reason this cream is such a hit. The scent is a blend of pistachio and caramel which leaves you smelling warm, summery, and sweet. Sweet and friendly has never been my scent M.O., but I found myself constantly going back to this cream so I bit the bullet and got it. The cream's secret ingredient is Guaraná which is known to help with circulation and smoothing. The reason this is target at your bum bum is caffeine and circulation are two ways to diminish cellulite without paying for pricey services like Kim K. Overall, I have seen a change in my skin's moisture which is fantastic because not a lot of lotions seem to work long term for me, and of course the scent makes me feel like a summer goddess. But I can't say I have noticed a huge difference in cellulite, but stay tuned because I am monitoring it closely.

- Villa Floriani Olive Oil Body Spray: 'Body oils are so fetch.' Well oils in general are, but this one has been a fan favorite for a while. It uses olive oil to replace lost moisture and of course also has antioxidants in it which leaves you with the perfect glistening and moisturized skin. My preference for this product is to apply it over a lotion when I've been in the sun all day, or in the morning while getting ready. I usually shower at night and follow up my showers with a lotion like the one mentioned above, so my oil usually comes in the morning for an extra boost of hydration. My favorite thing about this product is how well it goes on and how quickly it soaks in. I've tried a few different body oils from Target or CVS but I feel like they don't keep your skin hydrated once they dry so this product is definitely high up on my list. If you're in need of a quick pick me up or some light moisture for the rest of your body, I would definitely add this one to your cart.
